Prof. Stephen Heppell says TeachMeet is the best CPD event he has ever been to!
Two items of fab news today:
The headteacher and deputy met with Stephen Heppell yesterday. We teased them a lot because they apparently had seven minutes to give a presentation to him in a hotel room! (I think it was probably a hotel conference room, and the meeting itself was an hour long). They said that Stephen raved about the TeachMeet event on Wednesday night, and he told them it was the best CPD event he had ever been to!
The other bit of great news is that Stephen has agreed to donate his time to help advise on the design of our £30 million non-PPP school building! Wonderful!
We're all really looking forward to the design process. There's a great sense of hope and pride around the school at the moment, especially as the plans for closure are disintegrating. I'm just a little disappointed that most of the ICT planning for the new school will be happening while I'm on maternity leave, but Grace has said she'll keep me in the loop :-) After all, what else will I be doing while Sproglet's feeding and sleeping but surfing, researching and reading blogs?!

that's great!
I saw the heppell yesterday and one of the parts of his talk that struck me was about buildings - here's hoping forthill is one of a growing number of schools with such a design outlook!

Great news - i will be following your building plans with interest. We have a new secondary school opening in East Lothian in 2012, so I am really interested in this at the moment.

It's all true! And I am looking forward to helping with the building. If you are interested in the development of the Caribbean Schools I'm involved with keep your eyes on:
