I used blogging in class again today. I've used it before with the S4 who were doing programming to show them how they can use HTML code in blogs, but today I got the S1 blogging. They had been given a talk on the School Council at assembly, so I set up a class blog and asked them to either say how they would improve the school or ask a question to pupils on the council. They got a bit sidetracked by the fact the council is given a budget of £2000, and I had to delete 10 comments about one pupil's haircut, but on the whole not tooo bad.
I've been told I'm going to be teaching primary classes in a couple of weeks. The P6 or P7 classes are going to come to the school for an hour a week for six weeks. I've been told not to spend time on preparation, just to use the same material I use for S1. Hmmmmm. Somehow I don't think that's going to work! I think I'll contact the primary teachers and see if they have material such as poetry that the kids can use to type up and blog while there here. It would be good to get tasks that can carry on when they're back at school.
